Claude Code usage limits work on rolling windows: a 5-hour session window and a weekly cap. To resume automatically, something has to detect the limit, hold the work, and restart the session the moment the window resets. A rate-limited terminal session will not do this by itself; it just sits there until you notice, and the reset often lands at 3am.
How Tempo does it
Tempo runs Claude Code for you, so it sees the limit the moment it hits. When that happens it holds the whole queue instead of failing tasks, and the app shows both reset clocks: the 5-hour window and the weekly one.
The moment your window resets, every queued task resumes exactly where it stopped, mid-task, with its context intact. That includes overnight resets: you come back in the morning to merged tasks, not a stalled terminal waiting for a keypress.
Nothing about your setup changes. Tempo uses your own Claude Code subscription; it does not resell tokens or route your work through another account.
